Since starting my research on the song Tramp! Tramp! Tramp! I have heard many different uses of the word Tramp. Often, each time the word is used around the cohort they ask if or state that it was a reference to my project. Sometimes I will be in Gettysburg and I will hear someone use the word “tramp” in conversation. Here are some of my everyday encounters with the word and references in pop culture.
- He tramped through the kitchen.
- It was like a tramp sound
- She is a tramp.
- Referring to a homeless person
- Referring to a person that is promiscuous (This makes me so mad).
- He’s a tramp.
- Donald Tramp
- Tramp Ships, Tramp Trade
Have you heard the word “tramp” used recently and it was not in the context of my research? Please comment and let me know!
